- Identify CME/CE opportunities for grant support that align with the Company’s strategic focus
- Conduct ongoing outreach including video calls and in-person presentations to existing and prospective supporters
- Keep abreast of industry news, market conditions, competitive activities, educational trends through ongoing research and engagement at industry and medical conferences
- Assist with identification of potential supporters, based on topics, product development and market information
- Assist with the preparation and submission of grant proposals, budgets, applications, and supporting documentation
- Manage the communication and delivery of educational outcomes and project status reports to supporters
- Establish new collaborations with appropriate strategic partners (eg, healthcare systems, medical societies, patient advocacy groups)
- Fully understand and adhere to industry regulations and compliance requirements (eg, ACCME, OIG)
- At least 3 years’ experience preferred in a business development role for a medical education company or similar medical communications/media organization
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to develop strong client relationships and demonstrate good business acumen
- Comfortable in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively, especially with tight timelines, both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to travel

Talem Health is an accredited medical education company developing and delivering continuing medical education (CME/CE) that engages and empowers professionals across the healthcare team. Our educational initiatives focus on clinical, operational, and access-related barriers and are tailored to address the distinct needs of specific target audiences across three educational divisions – ACCESS Oncology, Rural Medical Education (RME) Collaborative, and Talem Nexus.
The Associate Scientific Director is an integral member of the Talem team, primarily responsible for development of high-quality accredited medical education content across a range of therapeutic areas, the successful management of assigned projects, and providing support to the team with implementation and execution of all program elements. This includes content development for CME/CE activities and needs assessments, collaboration with expert faculty, and timely execution of high-quality educational initiatives. This role will be reported to the Senior Director of Scientific Affairs.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of evidence-based medicine, interpreting and applying scientific and clinical concepts to content development.
- Develop medical education content for a variety of formats, including slide decks, enduring materials, video webinars, multimedia web activities, and related educational resources.
- Translate complex clinical and scientific information into clear, practical, and engaging content tailored to healthcare professional audiences.
- Lead the slides and scientific development and review of CME and/or patient program content in collaboration with other teams, adhering to timelines of all deliverables.
- Develop outcomes assessment questions for deliverables and provide scientific insights based on outcomes data from educational programs.
- Assist the scientific and editorial team in the design and development of abstracts, posters, presentations, and peer-reviewed publications.
- Provide guidance to the marketing and communication team regarding scientific accuracy for marketing campaigns.
- Collaborate with Business Development team to support business opportunities aligned with current therapeutic landscapes.
- Accountable for managing a workload of multiple projects with one or more deliverables and varying complexity (e.g. multi-component, curricula, implementation science initiatives, managed care).
- Develop content in compliance with ACCME standards, applicable CE guidelines, fair balance requirements, and principles of independence from commercial bias.
- Provide support to the scientific affairs team.
- Travel to and support the on-site execution of select educational activities, as needed.
- Perform other duties, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned.
- Provide weekly status updates to manager.

Qualifications and Experience:
- 3+ years of medical writer/scientific writer experience developing accredited education (preferred) or equivalent experience developing educational materials
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- BS/BA degree required. Advanced degree (MS, MPH, PharmD, PhD) preferred
- Familiarity with ACCME policies and standards preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

Travel Requirements:
- Approximately 20% domestic travel
Salary:
- $100,000 - $120,000
