Exciting opportunity to work for a growing company! Talem Health is a medical education company developing and delivering accredited, continuing medical education (CME/CE) to physicians, nurses, physician assistants and pharmacists.

The Director, Educational Strategy is responsible for identifying grant funding opportunities for CME/CE programs aligning with Talem Health’s strategies while maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and meeting personal goals and objectives. This position will work closely with the Talem Health team and report to the President/CEO to drive company growth.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Identify CME/CE opportunities for grant support that align with the Company’s strategic focus
  • Conduct ongoing outreach including video calls and in-person presentations to existing and prospective supporters
  • Keep abreast of industry news, market conditions, competitive activities, educational trends through ongoing research and engagement at industry and medical conferences
  • Assist with identification of potential supporters, based on topics, product development and market information
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of grant proposals, budgets, applications, and supporting documentation
  • Manage the communication and delivery of educational outcomes and project status reports to supporters
  • Establish new collaborations with appropriate strategic partners (eg, healthcare systems, medical societies, patient advocacy groups)
  • Fully understand and adhere to industry regulations and compliance requirements (eg, ACCME, OIG)
  • At least 3 years’ experience preferred in a business development role for a medical education company or similar medical communications/media organization
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop strong client relationships and demonstrate good business acumen
  • Comfortable in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively, especially with tight timelines, both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to travel

Medical Writer (Remote)

Talem Health is a continuing medical education company dedicated to providing healthcare professionals with information that is relevant and meaningful to clinical practice. We deliver education at the local, regional, and national level and through various platforms. By applying adult learning principles, we create educational activities that advance knowledge, competence, and performance with the goal of improving patient outcomes.

We are currently looking for an experienced medical writer to join our team. Our ideal candidate will have an advanced scientific or medical degree (eg, PhD, MS, MD, PharmD) with at least 2 years of prior experience in medical writing in a range of therapeutic areas. CME experience highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop medical education content for live, print, and web-based CME activities
  • Develop and maintain knowledge in various therapeutic areas, including, but not limited to, cardiometabolic diseases, neurology, psychiatry, respiratory, pain management, dermatology, and/or women’s health
  • Assist in the development of grant proposals by writing educational needs assessments, gap analyses, learning objectives, agendas, and content summaries
  • Maintain best scientific editorial practice
  • Ensure content adheres to ACCME standards where required
  • Develop questions for pre and post-tests, outcomes assessments, and learner surveys
  • Travel to and participate in the onsite execution of select educational activities, when needed
  • Perform other duties, tasks, and/or functions as assigned
  • Comply with Company SOPs
  • Advanced scientific or medical degree (eg, PhD, MS, MD, PharmD); a Bachelor of Science degree (life sciences, public health, or clinical sciences) may also be considered with several years’ experience writing and editing medical content
  • Diverse therapeutic experience
  • Knowledge of ACCME standards
  • At least 2 years of prior experience in medical writing, CME experience highly preferred

Copy Editor (Remote)

Exciting opportunity to work with a growing company! Talem Health is a medical education company that develops and delivers high-quality, accredited continuing medical education (CME/CE) to healthcare professionals.

The Copy Editor is an integral part of the cross-functional Editorial Team. He/she will work closely with the Managing Editor, Vice President of Scientific Affairs, and wider team to ensure that all materials for educational programs and other projects meet high standards of quality and accuracy.

  • Copy edit and proofread educational materials for healthcare professionals, including (but not limited to) PowerPoint slides, CME/CE activity components, scientific posters, monographs, abstracts, reference lists, and grant proposals
  • Ensure the accuracy and validity of content by fact checking content and verifying reference citations; obtain peer-reviewed references from scientific databases as needed
  • Identify when copyright permissions are needed, and obtain and track such permissions
  • Edit marketing materials such as emails, website/registration pages, and promotional flyers and ensure verbiage complies with Joint Accreditation policies
  • Provide support for virtual live webinars and on-site CME events/programs
  • Assist with maintaining the company’s internal style guide, based on the AMA Manual of Style
  • Assist with handling the timely and accurate input and maintenance of CME/CE accreditation documents and program files
  • Create CME/CE certificate templates
  • Complete additional special projects as assigned
Skills and Requirements 
  • Work experience with a focus on scientific/medical editing; prior CME experience is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in English or a related field
  • Excellent command of the written English language, including all aspects of style, grammar, punctuation, mechanics, and spelling
  • Familiarity with scientific and medical terminology, abbreviations, and AMA style guide
  • Keen attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to multi-task and balance several deadlines/production deliverables simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment; good organizational and prioritizing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Familiarity with scientific literature search engines (eg, PubMed) and reference management databases (eg, EndNote)
  • Occasional travel is required
